Consistent Climb to Pikes Peak JJ McNeese, a 20-year-old from Gunnison, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an impressive elapsed time of 2:54:06, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. He maintained an average pace of 13:01 per mile, securing 37th place overall among 2049 participants. Impressively, JJ climbed from an initial position of 1343rd at the start to 37th at the finish, highlighting his strong endurance and ability to maintain a consistent pace. Analyzing the splits, JJ started off particularly strong, improving significantly from his initial position in the early stages. Notably, the split from Ruxton to Hydro Street had him racing at an impressive 9:10 pace. The later stages of the race, especially after reaching the tree line, saw a slower pace, such as the 15:54 pace nearing "1 Mile To Go.” Focusing on maintaining speed during these critical high-altitude moments might further enhance future performances.
