Consistent Climb with Room for Speed Optimization Savannah Cruz completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 5:10:56. Starting at an elevation of 6,303 feet, she conquered a total distance of 13.36 miles, reaching the summit at 14,061 feet. Her overall pace was 23:16 per mile, and she finished 38th in the Female 25-29 division out of 2049 participants. Notable splits include an initial strong pace of 9:22 min/mile in the first 0.43 miles. As expected, the challenging terrain saw increased pace times, peaking at 35:14 min/mile during the '1 Mile To Go' marker. Savannah's position improved significantly after the start, advancing from 1268th overall to a notably better placement at 'Ruxton'. The later stages saw a rise in pace times above the treeline. Future outings could benefit from working on maintaining momentum in the higher altitude miles, particularly in the final segments, to enhance overall performance.
