His performance placed him 103rd in the O45-49 division out of 2049 participants. Notably, David maintained consistency at lower elevations with a commendable split pace of 9:45 min/mile over the first 0.43 miles. As expected, the average pace slowed as he increased altitude, highlighting the race's challenging final phases above the tree line. It's worth noting the contrast between this year's finish and his 2024 performance, where he achieved a time of 4:31:41. Compared to last year, this year's race showed variability in split times, particularly between the "Barr Camp" and "Finish" segments. During these splits, a focus on elevation acclimatization could further enhance performance in future races.
