Steady Progression at Pikes Peak Ascent Jimi Hansen from Arvada, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:33:21. He maintained a consistent pace of 20:27 min/mile over the challenging 13.36-mile course. Starting strong from the base with a split pace of 10:02 min/mile at Ruxton, Jimi gained momentum, improving his position significantly by the Top of W's checkpoint, where he stood 712th overall. He managed his race well, climbing steadily and pacing effectively through the heart of the course. As Jimi encountered the higher altitude sections, his pace understandably adjusted, recording his slowest split of 28:33 min/mile at the "1 Mile To Go" mark. Despite the challenges posed by altitude and terrain from the A-Frame checkpoint onward, he showcased persistence and concluded the race at 84th in his division (O35-39). Future strategies could focus on maintaining momentum through the final elevation gains.
