Consistent Climb with Strategic Splits Evelyn Osmond completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a time of 6:08:30, showcasing remarkable endurance across the 13.36-mile course. Starting prominently, Evelyn showed strong initial placement improvement at the Ruxton split, moving up to 362nd in gender place and 31st in her division with a swift 10:24 min/mile pace. Although she eased into a slower pace, by Hydro Street, Evelyn’s split pace was 17:26 min/mile, and her placement slightly dipped, signaling steady climbs and adjustments to the increasing elevation. The middle section of the race saw Evelyn maintaining steady splits under challenging conditions. From Barr Camp to Bottomless Pit, Evelyn managed to sustain her effort, although paces ranged from 16:54 min/mile to 45:37 min/mile as elevation increased significantly. Notably, near the course's highest points, Evelyn’s strategic push saw her reclaiming positions, evidenced by her moving back up to 495th in gender place by the 1 Mile To Go mark. Her consistent perseverance through varying split paces on technically demanding segments hints at strong altitude adaptation.
