Steady Progress and Strong Finish Above Tree Line Ben English, 50, from Prineville, OR, tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:55:40 over 13.36 miles, finishing 946th overall out of 2049 participants. The average pace was 22:07 min/mile, reflecting the challenging nature of the ascent. Notably, Ben gained significant positions from the start to the middle stages of the race. He climbed from 1347th at the start to as high as 611th by the 3.2-mile mark. In the final challenging three miles above the tree line, which were expected to have slower paces, Ben navigated well. His pace during this section slowed from 29:10 to 34:32 min/mile, a natural progression given the increased elevation and fatigue factors.
