Strong Finish on Pikes Peak's Grueling Ascent Brandon Soletski completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an impressive elapsed time of 4:29:12, averaging a pace of 20:08 min/mile. Starting off strong in Colorado Springs, Brandon showed consistency through the initial segments, maintaining a placid climb despite the challenging elevation gain of over 7,700 feet. By Ruxton, at just 0.43 miles, he clocked a brisk 10:14 min/mile. Progressing further, he kept a steady mid-race pace with noteworthy splits, such as the sub-20-minute miles at No Name Creek and 7.8 Summit, demonstrating his endurance at 8,733 and 9,461 feet, respectively. The final sections above the tree line presented significant challenges due to high altitude. In the last three miles, Brandon's pace gradually adjusted, culminating in a split pace of 27:53 min/mile as he reached the summit. Despite these demanding conditions, Brandon's overall rank improved notably from 360th place during a single split to finishing 642nd, showcasing a resilient and strategic race finish.
