Steady Climb with Consistent Performance Casey Partington Billings completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:20:57. They navigated the challenging trail with a steady pace, maintaining an overall pace of 24:01 min/mile across the 13.36-mile distance. Starting at 6303 feet, Casey progressed through various key checkpoints, reaching the top of Pike Peak at 14061 feet. Notably, the substantial elevation gain of nearly 8000 feet influenced their splits, resulting in slower paces as the course progressed and altitude increased. Casey's highlights included a commendable advancement from the starting position of 1495 to finishing 1174th overall. Notable checkpoint performances included overtaking positions by No Name Creek, where they reached 1357th overall, followed by impressive advancement during the second half. Their strongest segment came between 0.43 miles and Ruxton, with a swift split pace of 11:03. Their ability to remain resilient through the high-altitude segments will be beneficial for future elevation-intense races.
