Steady Progress but Slightly Slower Andrew Bergman completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:12:08, compared to 3:54:03 from the previous year. His pace slowed to 18:52 min/mile from 17:31 min/mile. He placed 50th in his age division (O40-44) among 2049 participants. Notable improvement was seen in the first split, "Ruxton," achieving a 7:11 min/mile pace, which positioned him 4th in the division. While the initial momentum was strong, a gradual slowdown began around "Barr Camp" at 2:01:50, with a 30:57 split at 16:38 min/mile. Above the tree line, particularly at "1.5 Miles To Go," the pace significantly decreased to 25:54 min/mile. Focus on high-altitude training and pacing could help enhance endurance in future events. Maintaining the momentum from the early segments and addressing fatigue could positively impact Andrew's overall performance.
