Consistent Climb to New Heights Dennis Stydinger completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4 hours, 43 minutes, and 10 seconds. This challenging half marathon took him through 13.36 miles with a pace of 21:11 minutes per mile. Starting strong at the Ruxton split with a 9:34 pace, he quickly advanced to 90th place in his division. By the time he reached Hydro Street and Top of W's, he had moved up to 68th and 82nd in the O35-39 category, demonstrating a powerful initial surge. In the later stages, Dennis faced significantly reduced pace, particularly from Barr Camp onwards, where split paces hovered between 22:32 and 31:07 minutes per mile. The final three miles above the tree line proved to be particularly tough, but Dennis displayed determination, finishing 95th in his division. Analyzing the splits suggests focusing on endurance and uphill speed for future improvement, especially in the high-altitude zones past the 7.8 Summit mark.
