Sustained Effort in High Altitude Challenge Austin Coleman completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 6:42:11, covering the ascent from 6000 feet to over 14000 feet within 13.36 miles. Beginning strong, Austin maintained a steady pace, recording a 10:43 min/mile at the Ruxton split. As the altitude and elevation increased, the splits reflected the challenging terrain. The pace transitioned from 15:20 min/mile to 46:41 min/mile as Austin reached higher altitudes. The most notable splits occurred towards the latter part of the event. Specifically, the Bottomless Pit and A-Frame sections saw a significant shift with 57:44 and 38:36 min/mile splits, respectively. Collectively, the final push demonstrated persistence, finishing with a 45:44 min/mile for the last segment. Evaluating the performance, there's demonstrable resilience, however, a focus on maintaining pace during high-altitude sections could potentially enhance future races.
