Significant Progress and Improved Consistency Ed Janeczek participated in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the challenging half marathon distance of 13.36 miles with an elapsed time of 4:58:01, an improvement from 5:21:19 in the previous year's race. This resulted in an average pace of 22:18 min/mile compared to last year's 24:03 min/mile. The overall placement was 963 out of 2049 participants, showing a marked upward trend from last year's 1053 out of 1996. Ed improved significantly in the initial phases, maintaining a sub-10-minute pace in the early segments. However, the pace slowed markedly from Bottomless Pit onwards, with the most considerable drop at the "2 Miles To Go" split where the pace was 31:01 min/mile. For even better future performance, focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace in the higher altitude segments could yield a faster overall time. The steady improvement highlights dedication and adaptability to course challenges.
