Consistent Climb on Pikes Peak Kreg Flowers completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an impressive time of 2:47:47, securing 27th overall and 5th in the M30-34 division out of 2049 participants. Starting at 6303 feet altitude, Kreg maintained a steady pace, averaging 12:33 min/mile over the entire 13.36 miles. His pacing at Ruxton, 0.43 miles into the race, was notably swift at 6:28 min/mile, contrasting with the challenging finale where his pace slowed to 19:33 min/mile. From Barr Camp at 7.91 miles onwards, Kreg steadily advanced through the ranks, consistent with equal positioning from A-Frame to the finish as fatigue and altitude set in. The noticeable decrease in pace from "Bottomless Pit" (13:07 min/mile) to "Finish" is understandable, given the climb's difficult nature. For future races, maintaining pace through high-altitude sections could further enhance performance stats. Great effort on a demanding course!
