Significant Improvement Marks Adrian's Ascent Adrian Banas, a 58-year-old runner from Crawfordsville, IN, exhibited remarkable progress at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Clocking an elapsed time of 4:45:43, Adrian completed the 13.36-mile course at an average pace of 21:23 min/mile. This was a significant enhancement from his 2024 performance where he recorded 5:55:34 with a pace of 26:36 min/mile. Adrian placed 24th in his O55-59 division among 2049 participants, showcasing a remarkable improvement by climbing 30 places up the division compared to the previous year. Notably, Adrian's effort at the Barr Camp section (2:11:26) was instrumental, maintaining a split pace of 13:06 min/mile, his fastest segment in the race. While the final 1.5 miles saw a regression in split pace to 31:48 min/mile, due to the higher altitude and fatigue, his overall leap in performance is commendable. Future training could focus on maintaining a steady pace during the challenging high-altitude segments to further enhance his results.
