Strong Start and Resilient Finish on the Ascent Orion Wilson completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an impressive elapsed time of 3:13:38, securing 91st place overall out of 2049 participants. Starting strong, Orion placed 64th overall at the Ruxton split with a pace of 6:36 min/mile. This quick start positioned him advantageously before the climb intensified. Throughout the ascent, Orion maintained a steady pace with some variability. Despite the challenging conditions above the tree line, where his pace slowed, he demonstrated resilience, notably moving back to a strong 8th in his division briefly at the 1.5 mile-to-go split. Orion finished 14th in his division with a consistent pace of 14:29 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course. Improvement could be focused on sustaining earlier pacing tactics for later stages to enhance overall time.
