Steady Ascent to the Summit Lauren Jordan, from Colorado Springs, successfully completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:17:40. Starting strong at Ruxton with a swift 8:35 min/mile pace, Lauren showed a noticeable decrease in pace, consistent with the course's elevation profile and challenging segments. By the milestone of Barr Camp at 7.91 miles, her split pace had adjusted to 16:24 min/mile, reflecting the demanding elevation gain. As Lauren tackled the final miles above the tree line, her pace slowed, typical of runners facing 14,000 feet in elevation. Her split at A-Frame was 23:40 min/mile, while the final push to the summit averaged 26:04 min/mile. Finishing 15th in her age division out of 27, she demonstrated perseverance and solid strategy. Lauren’s positioning improved remarkably from the start, moving up 24 places in her division by the end. The data indicates possible opportunities to refine pacing strategies in high-altitude segments.
