Consistent Climb in High Elevation Cherie High tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with determination, immersing herself in a challenging climb from 6,303 to 14,061 feet. Her consistent pacing stood out, particularly in the initial stretches. Notably, she began strong at Ruxton with a 9:50 min/mile pace. Cherie's pace at Hydro Street slowed to 13:08 min/mile, but she maintained a steady rhythm as the elevation increased. By the No Name Creek, she improved her division position to 5th, demonstrating resilience. The final segments above the tree line proved demanding. At A-Frame, the pace slowed to 24:38 min/mile, reflecting the high altitude challenges. With only a mile left, Cherie managed a solid 27:35 min/mile pace at 13,329 feet. Ending the race at a 32:03 min/mile pace, she successfully achieved a commendable 4th place in her division, completing the 13.36 miles in 4:33:41. Cherie demonstrated great endurance and determination throughout the race.
