Improved Resilience, Steady Climb David Weimer completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:00:21, a significant improvement over his previous time of 5:20:21. Despite the notoriously tough altitude challenges above the tree line, David managed to maintain a strong performance, reducing his overall pace from 23:58 min/mile in 2024 to 22:28 min/mile this year. Notably, he was able to finish 996th overall, a leap from 1045th place the previous year, in a total field of 2049 participants. An encouraging highlight of David's performance was his split times between the "Start" and "Finish." He improved his positioning across most segments compared to last year. His transition from "Barr Camp" to "Bottomless Pit" saw him regain substantial ground, moving from 1145th place to 1036th. For his future runs, David might focus on maintaining momentum in the higher altitudes, especially the final stretch, where his pace dropped to 32:10 min/mile. Continuing to build on this year's progress should serve him well in subsequent ascents.
