Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish Jeff Roach completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with a final elapsed time of 3:13:57, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an average pace of 14:31 min/mile. Impressively, Jeff placed 17th in the O35-39 division out of a large pool of participants. Starting from a low position, he made significant strides during the race, climbing from 1465th place overall at the start to 95th at the finish. Throughout the race, Jeff demonstrated a sustained improvement in his splits. At Ruxton, he covered 0.43 miles in 3:40 with a pace of 8:33, which propelled him significantly forward in ranking. Jeff maintained a strong performance up to Barr Camp, showing his ability to keep an efficient pace despite challenging elevation changes. In the final mile, while his split pace averaged at 19:21 min/mile, he managed a cohesive finish at an elevation gain reaching over 14,000 feet. Continuing to fine-tune pacing strategies in high altitude segments could enhance future performances even further.
