Significant Pace Improvement, Notable Mid-Race Positions Chris Hoffee completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:50:19, significantly improving his time from the previous year by over an hour. His average pace of 21:43 min/mile outperformed his previous 27:18 min/mile pace, showcasing a marked improvement. At the start, Chris held strong at 4th position in his division but faced tough competition as he progressed. Notably, Chris climbed from 92nd at "Ruxton" to 84th place in his division by "Bottomless Pit." The toughest segment seemed to be the final stretch from "0.5 Miles To Go" to the "Finish," where his pace slowed to 29:47 min/mile, a common trend at high altitudes. One area for enhancement might be sustaining the earlier pace observed at the "Ruxton" and "Hydro Street" splits. Yet, the noteworthy advance in placement from the previous year (1379th to 873rd overall) highlights Chris's progressing skill and adaptability to the altitude challenges.
