Solid Improvement and Consistent Performance in High Altitude Neil Lees, aged 49 from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:57:13, an impressive improvement over his 2024 performance of 5:12:30. His pace was 22:14 min/mile, a notable enhancement from 23:23 min/mile last year. Neil finished 953rd overall out of 2049 participants and ranked 86th in the O45-49 division. His strongest segment was at Ruxton, where he clocked a swift 9:11 pace over 0.43 miles, indicating his capability to start strong. His performance on challenging elevation segments shows some variability, particularly between 10.29 miles and 13.36 miles, where Neil faced elevation jumps peaking at 14,061 feet. Here, his pace reduced to between 24:13 and 32:39 min/mile.
