Solid Ascent Despite Altitude Challenges Joseph Frabbiele completed the demanding 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:10:45, maintaining an average pace of 23:15 min/mile across the 13.36-mile course. His efforts placed him 1079th overall out of 2049 participants and 97th in the O45-49 division. The final push to the 14,061-foot summit reflected a strategic and steady approach, particularly in the challenging last segments. Joseph’s pace varied notably at different points, with early segments like the 0.8-mile stretch to Hydro Street clocking in at 13:23 min/mile. Later, above the tree line, the 0.5257-mile segment before the finish slowed to 35:30 min/mile, illustrating the event’s growing difficulty as elevation increased. Nonetheless, Joseph improved his positioning consistently after the Barr Camp split, demonstrating resilience and adaptation over the course. A review of pacing strategy could lead to enhancements for future altitude gain runs, particularly in the race's concluding stretches.
