Impressive Mid-Race Positions and Steady Climb at High Altitude Lauren Jones delivered a consistent performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Completing the half marathon in 4:12:16, she navigated a challenging course that climbed from 6303 feet to 14061 feet. With an overall pace of 18:52 min/mile, Lauren's race highlighted her strength, especially in the earlier stages, exemplified by her significant leap from a 453rd place at Ruxton to an impressive 252nd place at Hydro Street. As she approached higher altitudes, her pacing adapted efficiently to the steep ascents, maintaining a top 10 divisional position for several splits including Top of W's and 7.8 Summit. Although the final miles saw a progressive slowdown, Lauren displayed determination, finishing 16th in her division. To enhance performance, focusing on pacing strategies for the ascent over the final few miles could support improved times at such altitudes.
