Consistent Performance with Notable Pace Improvement Gordon Gibbs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in an elapsed time of 4:21:47, showing an improvement from his previous year's performance by over eight minutes. Notably, his average pace increased to 19:35 min/mile, a commendable improvement from last year's 20:13 min/mile. Throughout the challenging ascent from an elevation of 6,303 feet at the start to 14,061 feet at the finish, he displayed consistency, especially considering the difficult final three miles. In the initial splits, Gordon maintained a strong start with a split pace of 9:39 at Ruxton and consistently improved his position, reaching 520th overall by the 12.8343-mile mark. His race strategy showed effectiveness in the middle sections where he sustained a pace around 16:12 min/mile at 7.8 Summit and 16:46 min/mile at Barr Camp. The final ascent saw a natural decline to a 27:19 min/mile pace, reflecting the increased elevation and altitude challenges.
