Steady Climb with Strong Finish Heidi Laughlin completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:08:22, achieving an 18:35 min/mile pace over the 13.36-mile course. Her effort placed her 98th among female participants and 16th in her F45-49 age division. Starting at 596th place, she consistently improved her standings, finishing overall at 436th out of 2049 participants. Heidi showed resilience in the higher altitude splits despite slowing in the final miles above the tree line. Notably, her pace at the "Start" was a brisk 9:38 min/mile, increasing as expected with the altitude climb to 27:07 min/mile at the finish. Between "Hydro Street" and "Top of W's", Heidi improved her placings significantly, moving from 835th to 649th. Focusing on endurance strategies at these altitudes can enhance future performances as she looks to refine her pace further in these challenging segments.
