Consistent Progression and Strong Finish at High Altitude Lauren Stone from Littleton, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a total time of 4:29:43, finishing 649th overall, 165th among women, and 18th in the F40-44 division. Her overall pacing was 20:11 per mile over the challenging 13.36-mile course, starting from 6,303 feet and climbing to 14,061 feet. Lauren demonstrated a strong start, moving from 1176th position initially to 647th by the time she reached Ruxton, maintaining a remarkable pace of 9:14. Her ability to improve positioning in early stages, and holding steady within the top 250 for her gender, particularly through Barr Camp and Bottomless Pit, suggests consistency. While the final mile showed an expected slowdown with a split pace of 30:39, this was a result of climbing to the highest altitude, creating a tougher challenge. Focusing on building endurance at high altitudes could further enhance performance on similar courses.
