Significant Pace Improvement and Division Success William Cox, 66, from Colorado Springs, showed commendable progress in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the challenging half marathon in 6:00:09, and significantly improving his time by 18:44 from last year. His pace clocked at 26:57 min/mile, quicker than the previous 28:21 min/mile. Consistent performance was evident as he secured 27th in the O65-69 division, matching his division position and demonstrating competitive consistency despite tougher conditions at higher elevations. A remarkable mid-race split during "1.5 Miles To Go" landed him at 22nd division place, proving his strategic pacing as he approached the final ascent. Notable improvement in overall standing was observed, moving up from 1450 in 2024 to 1442 in 2025, amidst a larger field. Observing split performances, a strategy to maintain or improve speed over the first half might enhance outcomes further. Keep building on this great effort!
