Consistent Performance with Top Division Finish Sheri Atkinson completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent creating a solid result with an elapsed time of 4:39:54 over 13.36 miles, earning her the 4th place in her division F60-64. Her average pace was 20:57 min/mile, reflecting a strong effort on a course with significant elevation gains. Sheri began the race at a pace of 10:10/mile at Ruxton, adjusting adequately to rising altitudes, with notable deceleration past Barr Camp, where split pace reached 22:46/mile. Compared to the 2024 event, Sheri experienced a slower time by 20:24, as the pace dropped from 19:25 min/mile to 20:57 min/mile this year. Despite finishing with a slower pace, she maintained a top-five division finish and improved her place from the start, climbing from 36th in division at the start to 4th by the finish. Focus on maintaining early pace consistency through middle sections might help mitigate late-race slowdowns.
