Significant Time Reduction and Improved Performance Mike Ruman demonstrated notable improvement during the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, cutting almost 55 minutes off his previous year's time. With an elapsed time of 4:05:12, he maintained an impressive 18:21 min/mile pace over the 13.36-mile course. Mike achieved a 314th position in his gender category and finished 29th in his age division. His progression through the race was steady, exemplified by maintaining a competitive pace early on and conserving energy for the challenging sections past the tree line. Key split performances include a strong starting pace of 7:35 min/mile at Ruxton and maintaining sub-17 min/mile up to Barr Camp. The ascent became more demanding from Bottomless Pit onwards, evidenced by a slowing pace. In particular, attention could be focused on refining efforts during the final sections, where his pace extended above 23 min/mile. Nonetheless, the overall time reduction compared to the previous year marks a significant performance growth.
