Steady Progress with Notable Mid-Race Consistency Christopher Brandon from Crowley, TX completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:10:06, an impressive feat for such a high-altitude course. Starting at an initial pace of 9:43 min/mile, he made significant gains early in the race by advancing from 91st to 87th in his division by Ruxton (0.43 miles). By the Top of W's stage (3.2 miles), Christopher had climbed to 60th place, showing strong determination and strategic pacing. His split times demonstrate consistency, especially past Barr Camp (7.91 miles) where he held a steady pace despite the increasing elevation. Notably, the split from 7.8 Summit to Barr Camp had a slightly faster pace of 16:08 min/mile. Despite slowing down towards the finish, due in part to the challenging elevation above the tree line, Christopher maintained a solid position within his division, finishing 49th among his peers aged 40-44. Focusing on his pacing strategy for the final few miles could yield even finer results in future events.
