Strong Uphill Progress for Laura at Pikes Peak Ascent Laura Novitsky completed the Pikes Peak Ascent with a total time of 4:39:48 over the challenging 13.36-mile course. Her pace averaged at 20:56 min/mile. Impressively, despite the high altitudes and elevation gains, Laura finished 27th in the F40-44 division, with a total of 2049 participants. Her initial split to Ruxton showed a strong start at a pace of 10:00 min/mile, which helped her move up from the 96th to the 42nd position in her division. Notable splits include her stretch to Hydro Street where she clocked a pace of 11:21 min/mile, positioning her 27th in her division. As the elevation increased significantly, her pace understandably slowed, with the challenging topmost sections seeing paces near 30 min/mile. Encouragingly, in the final stretch to the finish, Laura remained competitive, showing great determination and maintaining her placement well in her division. Continue building on this solid performance with more altitude training.
