Steady Progress on a Tough Course Josh Byrd, 35, showed impressive improvement in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, finishing with an elapsed time of 4:38:39, a notable advancement from his previous time of 4:50:12 at the 2024 race. This year's effort yielded an overall place of 745 out of 2049 participants, moving up from 788 the prior year, and ranked 91st in the O35-39 division. His pace was 20:51 min/mile, demonstrating increased speed compared to his earlier pace of 21:43 min/mile. Analyzing the split performance, Josh showed strength early on, maintaining a sub-20-minute pace until reaching higher altitudes. At "Ruxton" he clocked a swift split pace of 10:20, while "Barr Camp" had his best altitude-adjusted pace at 13:42. The higher elevation sections presented challenges, with the final stretch from "1 Mile To Go" to the finish showing a slow and steady pace.
