Steady Climb with Notable Elevation Gain Mike McIntyre impressively tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile trail run in 4:41:55. Starting at an elevation of around 6,303 feet, he ascended to the peak's 14,061 feet, facing increasingly steep slopes and high-altitude challenges. Highlights include a strong start, where he improved from 1,638th place to 811th after the first 0.43 miles by maintaining a 9:37 min/mile pace. By the 3.2-mile mark, he moved up to 579th place, reflecting solid pacing. As the elevation increased, Mike shifted focus to maintaining consistent effort. The last 0.53 miles, between "0.5 Miles To Go" and the "Finish," saw his pace slow to 30:23 min/mile. While this slowing is typical due to the high altitude and fatigue, working on pacing strategies in stressful environments can prove beneficial.
