Steady Climb with Strategic Start Sandy Liddell completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:49:23, maintaining an average pace of 21:39 min/mile. Starting strong, Sandy had an impressive Split Time of 9:07 per mile in the first segment to Ruxton, securing an early third-place position in the F45-49 division. As elevation increased, Sandy strategically navigated the challenging terrain. Sandy held a consistent pace until No Name Creek at 4.48 miles with minimal position changes. Notably, the steep ascent to 14,061 feet at the finish line proved formidable. The most significant slowdown was observed in the last 0.9-mile segment from "1 Mile To Go" to "0.5 Miles To Go," where the split pace reached 31:33. There was a steady competitive standing in the division, finishing 30th among peers. Future focus could be on maintaining pace beyond the tree line to minimize time loss during the final ascent.
