Solid Performance with Top Division Finish at High Altitude Trista Montoya delivered a noteworthy performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing 13.36 miles in 3:47:41 with an average pace of 17:02 min/mile. Her progress through the course was marked by strategic pacing, earning her a respectable 4th place in the female 40-44 division. Starting strong, Trista improved her standing from 30th in her division at the start to 4th by the Top of W's, holding this position consistently through challenging sections. Notable pacing achievements through Ruxton (9:25 min/mile) and Hydro Street (10:41 min/mile) highlighted Trista's strategic speed in early stages. As expected in high altitude sections, paced slowed noticeably towards the finish, with splits of 23:32 min/mile and 24:21 min/mile in the final miles above 13,000 feet. Continuing to consistently climb the overall and divisional ranks showcases her strong endurance and ability to maintain focus under altitude-induced fatigue. Fine-tuning pacing during uphill segments might yield even more impressive results.
