Consistent Performance with Strategic Pacing Jenna Commisso, at the age of 28, took on the demanding Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile race with an elapsed time of 5:02:17. Starting strong, Jenna maintained a consistent pace, clocking an impressive 10:09 min/mile in the initial split at Ruxton but faced increasing challenges as the altitude rose. Her overall pace averaged 22:37 min/mile, securing her the 33rd place in the F25-29 division among a total of 2049 participants. It is noteworthy that Jenna showed remarkable stamina, especially during the more strenuous segments. At Barr Camp, her split pace was 13:52 min/mile, a marked improvement reflecting strategic burst management. Above the tree line, her pace slowed, with a 34:49 min/mile pace at the finish, which is typical under such high-altitude conditions. Jenna's performance was steady throughout, yet focus on maintaining pace in high-altitude sections could yield even better results in the future.
