Consistent Improvement on Pike’s Peak Ascent Aaron Vestal completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:20:57, improving his time by over 29 minutes from the previous year. With a pace of 19:31 min/mile across 13.36 miles, he placed 554th out of 2049 participants. Aaron’s performance was also notable in his division, the Male 25-29 category, where he secured 52nd place. Starting strong, Aaron's initial pace at Ruxton was 9:27 min/mile. As the elevation increased, pacing began to slow, reaching 25:16 min/mile by the A-Frame at 11,933 feet. Despite the challenging elevation, his consistent pacing towards the end showed improvement with a final split of 23:18 min/mile. Notably, there was an impressive position jump from 670th to 332nd place as he approached 1.5 miles to go. Continued focus on sustained endurance in the higher altitudes could enhance future performances.
