Significant Improvement Over Previous Year Sarah Bowlin from Castle Rock, CO completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 4:51:04, improving over her previous time of 5:06:34 from the 2024 edition. Despite the challenging elevation gain to the top of Pikes Peak, she managed a pace of 21:47 min/mile across the 13.36-mile course. Her overall rank was 889 out of 2049 participants, with a notable 31st place in her division (F45-49). Looking at her splits, Sarah demonstrated a strong start, with impressive early pace at Ruxton at 9:41 min/mile. While her pace naturally slowed during the steeper, altitude-heavy sections, she consistently moved up in her division and overall rankings, reaching 31st in her division by the finish. Continuing to work on uphill pacing during the latter half of the race, particularly beyond the treeline, could help further optimize her performance in future events.
