Thomas Gleason's High-Altitude Endurance Thomas Gleason, 38, from Ignacio, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:38:19 and an overall pace of 25:19 min/mile. Thomas experienced variations in pace throughout the race. At Ruxton, he held a solid pace of 9:38 min/mile, while the climb through Hydro Street resulted in a slower pace of 13:08 min/mile. As expected, the challenges of high altitude were evident as he progressed off the tree line. Kicking off the last leg, his performance around "1.5 Miles To Go" significantly boosted his overall rank momentarily, dropping his position to 719. Thomas maintained consistent performance against peers in his age group, finishing 144th in the O35-39 division. To further enhance his performance, concentrating on adapting to steep altitude gains could provide insights into maintaining his earlier pace into the latter parts of the race. Overall, this was a respectable display of stamina in demanding conditions.
