Consistent Performance and Strong Finish at High Altitude Todd Martin completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 5:57:30, covering 13.36 miles with an average pace of 26:45 min/mile. Starting strong, Todd held the 14th position in his age division at the start but faced tougher competition, finishing 52nd in the O60-64 category. His progress up the ascent was steady; despite a challenging elevation climb from 6303 to 14061 feet, he maintained a strong pace, notable particularly after passing the 7.8 Summit, where his split pace of 15:59 was his fastest during the climb. Out of 2049 participants, Todd placed 1422 overall and 923 within his gender group. The demanding final section from 12.31 miles onward, with a pace of 39:02 to 46:38, indicates an area for strategic improvement, particularly as he approaches the summit, where fatigue is most likely a factor. Recognizing where pace slows notably can provide key insights for refining strategies in future high-altitude events.
