Consistent Effort in High Altitude Challenges Ansley Schrimpf completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, a 13.36-mile half marathon, in 6:02:33, managing an average pace of 27:08 min/mile. Throughout the race, she ascended from an elevation of 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet. Her strongest early pace was recorded between the start and Ruxton at 9:51 min/mile. As expected, her pace adapted as the altitude increased and the course became more demanding. Particularly noteworthy are Ansley’s consistent efforts in the final miles above the tree line. Her split pace from "1 Mile To Go" to the finish slowed to between 41:04 min/mile and 46:41 min/mile, which is a reasonable adaptation given the high altitude. Her positioning showed resilience, maintaining competitive placement within her division, especially at the start. Overall, her journey from Chicago to the formidable heights of Pikes Peak was marked by determination and steady pacing, showcasing her potential in future altitude challenges.
