Consistent Performance Over Challenging Elevation Gain William Sickenberger demonstrated consistent pacing during the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing with an elapsed time of 2:58:10 over a distance of 13.36 miles. His average pace was 13:20 min/mile, placing him 46th out of 2,049 participants overall and 11th in his age division. Starting strong, William improved his position from 148th at the start to as high as 29th by the Ruxton mark, maintaining a steady pace through the initial elevation gains. Despite the increasing altitude, William managed to maintain a pace below 12 minutes per mile until Barr Camp at mile 7.91. In the most demanding sections above the tree line, his pace adjusted to the conditions, particularly evident in the last three miles with a noticeable increase to 16–18 minutes per mile. Focus on pace strategy in final sections and adapting to altitude could further optimize his performance in future altitude races.
