Consistent Effort and Steady Climb on Pike's Peak Jason Rose finished the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with a total time of 6:34:06, covering a distance of 13.36 miles at an average pace of 29:29 minutes per mile. While his pace was slower compared to his previous participation in the 2024 event, where he completed the course in 5:36:55 with a pace of 25:13 min/mile, Jason demonstrated consistency in his effort over a challenging terrain. Notably, his performance was strong around the Top of W's checkpoint, where he was ranked 722 overall. Examining the splits, Jason began at a pace of 11:11 min/mile, but as anticipated, his pace slowed due to the increasing elevation. The drastic change occurred between Barr Camp and Bottomless Pit, with a split pace shifting from 18:27 to 58:12 min/mile. However, Jason maintained determination and completed the last stretch with a split pace of 43:04 min/mile at the finish line. Focus on training for altitude adaptation could help in future events.
