Strong Start with Room for Growth Kevin Zeek completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 3:54:02, maintaining an average pace of 17:31 per mile. Starting from an elevation of 6,303 feet, he ascended to 14,061 feet. Initially, Kevin demonstrated impressive pacing, with rapid gains in positions, notably moving from 235th at Ruxton to 155th by Hydro Street. His most efficient pace was observed on the 0.43-mile stretch to Ruxton, clocking in at 7:58 per mile. Consistently performing well, Kevin maintained a position within the top 200 until the final challenging miles. The demanding final miles presented significant challenges, slowing his split paces to a maximum of 31:04 per mile for the last segment. During these high-altitude sections above the tree line, Kevin's position shifted from 101st at 1.5 miles remaining to 318th overall at the finish. A strategic focus on altitude adaptation and maintaining energy output could enhance his endurance further for future races.
