Improved Performance with Consistent Effort Dean Bowen's performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent shows an impressive improvement over last year's race. With an elapsed time of 4:17:11, Dean's pace improved to 19:15 min/mile compared to 21:50 min/mile in 2024. This significant enhancement moved him up to 524th place overall, from 797th the previous year, and from 26th to 15th in his division O55-59. The data indicates strategic pacing, with calculated efforts on various segments of the challenging course. Analyzing the splits, Dean maintained a steady approach till the halfway point at the 7.8 Summit mark. Notable segment times include a 30:04 split at Barr Camp and maintaining consistency across the final miles despite increasing elevation. The segment between Bottomless Pit and A-Frame was particularly taxing, with a slower pace of 24:07 per mile before picking up rhythm towards the race’s end.
