Consistent Progress on the Pikes Peak Ascent David Hendrix, a seasoned participant from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:12:37 over the 13.36-mile course. At age 61, his overall place was 1104 out of 2049 participants, marking him at 34th in his division (O60-64). Though his pace decreased to 23:24 min/mile compared to last year's 22:45 min/mile, his steady progression through the race was notable. David's splits show consistent pacing through challenging conditions. At the Ruxton split, he recorded a pace of 10:03 min/mile. The most testing segment appeared towards the finish, with the final half-mile split reaching a pace of 34:05 min/mile. Improvement could be focused on maintaining a stronger pace in the last few miles, as the terrain becomes steeper and altitude more significant. Despite these obstacles, David’s dedication and endurance were evident throughout the race.
