Strong Start with Strategic Need in Final Stages Jessica Allen exhibited a strong initial performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, beginning the race with impressive paces, especially in her first segment. At the "Hydro Street" waypoint, she clocked a time of 9:58 for 1.23 miles, averaging an impressive pace of 8:06 min/mile and holding a strong position of 99th overall. Her ascent through to "Barr Camp" remained robust as she advanced through the elevation with a steady pace. The final miles presented a significant shift in dynamics. Particularly, the segment from "A-Frame" to the finish, where the pace averaged over 30 min/mile, became notably more challenging. At "1.5 Miles To Go," Jessica interestingly improved her position significantly to 542nd overall before a final push to the finish line. Ending with an elapsed time of 5:08:00 for 13.36 miles on this ascent, consideration for strategies to maintain strength in high-altitude stages could enhance future performances.
