Strong Start with Consistent Effort Throughout Pikes Peak Ascent Patrick Beebe displayed a commendable performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the half marathon with a time of 4:27:47. Starting strong, Patrick held a respectable pace early in the race, reaching Ruxton at 8:25 min/mile and maintaining substantial standings, placing 377th overall at that point. As the course progressed, he faced the increasing difficulty from the climb, evidenced by changes in split paces. By the time he reached the A-Frame checkpoint at 10.29 miles, his pace had slowed to 24:05 min/mile, reflective of the challenges posed by high altitude and fatigue. Patrick's overall strategy showcased consistent efforts, particularly in maintaining rankings within his age division. Despite a gradual deceleration, especially in the challenging final miles above tree line, Patrick preserved a solid showing with a 19th place finish in the O55-59 division. Consideration for additional altitude training can be beneficial in future endeavors to enhance performance further against the steep slopes.
