Steady Ascent on Pike's Peak Holly Wilbee completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, covering 13.36 miles with an elapsed time of 5:43:13. She maintained a consistent overall pace of 25:41 minutes per mile, placing 1334th among 2049 participants and 458th in the female category. Importantly within her division (F35-39), she moved to an 81st position by the finish. The splits reveal a strategic start with a 4:58 minute timeframe at Ruxton, moving up from 1092nd to 1520th overall. Notably, her execution from Barr Camp showcased a quick pace of 15:35 min/mile over 1.86 miles, her fastest segment within the ascent. Although the final half mile to the summit was considerably slower at 39:34 min/mile, maintaining endurance through the challenging high-altitude finish was commendable. Future opportunities may include refining pacing strategies for reduced splits variability, especially in segments above the treeline.
