Steady Performance and Strong Finish Bonnie McCoy, from Littleton, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:58:06. Covering a distance of 13.36 miles, her overall pace was 22:18 min/mile. Her initial momentum was evident with a brisk split pace of 9:27 at the Ruxton check point. She maintained a steady pace through the course, showcasing her resilience as she climbed to higher elevations. Bonnie's ability to maintain composure and gradually climb in ranks was noteworthy, especially given the race conditions. While her pace naturally slowed at higher altitudes, she successfully navigated the steep climbs, attaining an elevation gain from 6,303 to 14,061 feet. By the finish line, Bonnie secured 40th place in her age division and ended among the top half of female participants. Future improvements could focus on maintaining pace consistency in the steep sections above 12,000 feet.
